People often ask how a tree could be strong enough to support a treehouse. I respond: "It's not the tree you need to worry about -- its the house."TRENTON, N.J. - December 6, 2007 -- Neighbors call it the "tree house," but this one's not the innocent backyard version.
"I never seen one grow out of a house before, not a tree," said 77-year-old Minnie Davis of Monmouth Street in Trenton, who is worried about what's happening at the abandoned house next door.
Trees have been growing inside the building, big enough to punch their way through the walls and brick exterior; creating what she feels is a real hazard.
And as the above image shows, sometimes the trees are willing, it's just that the house that doesn't have what it takes. Not all houses can be treehouses when they grow up!
