of other people's tree houses!
The Canim Lake treehouse was built by David Montie and Lynn Plautz during the summer of 2005. It is the size of a two story cabin and is a comfortable living space for two people.
The house itself has an octagon shape 14 feet across on the first floor and 10 feet across on the second floor. The deck extends out 6 feet along one side and out the front.
The entire structure is made of recycled and reclaimed materials. We disassembled old buildings for wood and used an old fiberglass satellite dish for a domed roof over the loft.
We also used some advanced techniques, such as fully floating support brackets, to attach the structure to the trees.
