We have experienced an unanticipated side effect from using a satellite dish as a roof above the bed. Sounds from the lake shore below echo up and are focused by the dish onto a point beside our heads. The result is the ongoing sensation that water is lapping at the bedside. And, if it is windy, the house sways gently and the sound of waves make it feel like being on a boat. Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night to the unnerving sound of grunts and digging, too...
